I got this philosophy after attending the ICCE Conference in Hong Kong in 2005. I can’t remember the speaker who said this but as a coach educator I love using this whenever I organise courses to train coaches.
Performance does not last. An athlete can perform at a competition but he/she might not do it again in another competition. Hence it is temporary. However whether his/her athlete perform or not his coaching routine has to go on. He still has to coach to help his/her athlete regain performance or improve it.
