Malaysian Dish Series 1

Malaysia is consider a food haven not only for tourist but for locals too. Anywhere in Malaysia you can have choices of food that tempt your taste buds and really irresistable. This is my first blog writing about food in Malaysia and I will write more in future as my effort to “sell” Malaysian Food to the world.

Nasi Kandar – as its name implies the food started as a hawker food where the seller will carry his load on both end of a yoke slung across his shoulder. The dish is rice eaten with curry, vegetables and choices of other options. Eventhough Nasi Kandar is a dish related to Penang Island or Pearl of the Orient in the north of Malaysia, it now has become popular throughout the country. Nasi Kandar Restaurants has emerged in other cities and town in Malaysia and not only on Penang island. Among the popular chain of nasi kandar restaurants are Subaidah Nasi Kandar, Pelita Nasi Kandar and Kayu Nasi Kandar.
