Malay Wedding Fair @ Bukit Jalil

December
Its the school holidays for schools in Malaysia.
Its a time for some Christmas shopping.
Its time for parents to take leave and go for holidays with their kids.
Its time for public service staffs to finish off their yearly holiday.
Its time for growing Muslims kids to go for their compulsory bersunat or circumcision before they step into manhood a few years later.
In a month time, we are going to step into another new year. Its going to be the tenth year in millenium 2K.
And December is also feasting time for new couples. This is the best time to organize the ‘kenduri’ because of the school holidays and families fron far and near can get together and rekindle their family ties after sometimes being away from each others.
Wedding ceremonies is still part of the activities for those entering into family lives. From the traditional kampong style of kenduri where the whole village will come together and cooperate to organise the feast to the modern city lifestyle way of organising it, a wedding ceremony has become something an important date for parents and bride and bridegroom alike.
In those days the main director for any kenduri will be the Mak Andam but today the function of the Mak Andam is slowly being taken over by wedding ceremony planners. Planning and running a wedding ceremony is not only  a Western culture or Chinese Culture in Malaysia. The Malay now too is following the footsteps by hiring wedding ceremony planners to organise their kenduri. More and more companies has been set up to organise these wedding ceremonies professionally.
At Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur there was a launching ceremony of a large scale wedding planning company to showcase what they have in store. The company Eqien Wedding Market was launched in tandem with the Jomheboh Carnival.
