Oh No! 6 people died at Bukit Jalil stadium and according to police due to drug (methamphetamine) overdose. The outcome of the incident, the last day of FMFA (Future Music Festival Asia) will not proceed.
FMFA Organiser, Live Scape Sdn Bhd : “In the interest of public safety, we have heeded the authority’s advice to not proceed with Day-3 of Future Music Festival Asia 2014.
“This is also to help in the on-going investigation. We appreciate the understanding of all parties and will share updates on this matter as soon as possible,” the organisers said in a statement its Facebook page”. SOURCE
City police chief Senior Deputy Comm Datuk Mohmad Salleh said the nine, ages from 21 to 28, collapsed during Friday’s event after consuming drugs at around 1.30am.
One person died on the spot in Bukit Jalil while another died on the way to the hospital. Three others died at the Universiti Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC ) and Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia Hospital (HUKM).
Eventhough drug abuse might be individual practice but entertainment that can make fans go out of their mind must be looked into seriously but organiser still has full responsibiity of what happens within their jurisdiction. The incident that happended during Woodstock Festival in Kuala Lumpur in the 60s was also marred with drug consumption.
